Jordan is an eleven-year-old boy who has lived with his grandmother since his mother left nearly nine years ago. He has never known his father, and his grandmother, who has full custody, is now battling cancer and other serious health issues. His grandfather is in the home as well, but unable to engage or play with him, leaving much of Jordan’s emotional world carried quietly on his own.

Despite frequent moves and the difficulty of forming lasting friendships, Jordan remains an exceptionally kind and positive child. He is inclusive with everyone he meets, helps his grandparents with anything they need, and takes wonderful care of his dog, Taz.
